Expressive delivery, voice and lyrics. Gleb Veselov, known by his stage name Gleb or Big boy Gleb, is a Slovak rapper who has a quarter of a million monthly listeners on Spotify.
He was born in 1991 in Russia, but moved to Slovakia with his family when he was two years old. He grew up in Ružinov, a Bratislava borough that has shaped his work.
Many influences can be felt in his music. He often combines club electronica with rap in his tracks. Apart from American rap, he is also heavily influenced by the British scene. However, neither genre defines his work and he has created his own specific sound.
He started rapping as a teenager, later he also worked within the drum & bass scene as a backing MC, starting out at various underground parties, for example at the popular Subclub in Bratislava. After several garage mixtapes and EPs, he released his platinum debut album Bench Pimpin in 2017.
His second album Gauč Storytelling 2019 won first place in the Ruka Hore Awards and was also awarded at the Radio_head Awards 2019, where it took home the prize for Album of the Year and Record of the Year in the hip hop/rap/r'n'b category. Gleb succeeded in this genre at the Radio_head Awards again a year later with his new EP Summer in the Trunk 2020.
He recorded his most recent studio album – Big Boy FM – in 2022, and, like the previous ones, it went platinum in a short while and won several awards (Tatra Banka Foundation, Ruka Hore Awards, TV Ocko Awards).
Gleb is a regular performer at the largest Slovak music festival Pohoda.
He is currently devoting his energy to his project Rapinox, in which he invites interesting guests to the microphone. This year, the Slovak rapper became a father. On his social media, he completed the photograph of the baby in a car seat with the caption "My best FEAT was born."
Interpretación, voz y textos singulares. Gleb Veselov, conocido por su nombre artístico Gleb o Big boy Gleb, es un rapero eslovaco que cuenta con un cuarto de millón de oyentes mensuales en Spotify.
Nació en 1991 en Rusia, pero a los dos años se mudó a Eslovaquia junto con su familia y creció en la aglomeración urbana de Ružinov en Bratislava. Este ambiente y la cultura callejera se manifestaron posteriormente en sus letras de canciones.
En su música se reflejan muchas influencias. En sus composiciones suele combinar la música electrónica con el rap. Además del rap estadounidense se ve muy influenciado por la escena británica. Sin embargo, su obra no cabe dentro de la definición de un sólo género, pues ha creado su propio sonido que lo caracteriza.
Comenzó a rapear cuando era adolescente, más tarde se desempeñó en la escena drum'n'bass como MC acompañante y en varias fiestas clandestinas, por ejemplo, en el alguna vez famoso Subclub de Bratislava. Después de lanzar varios mixtapes y unos EP, en 2017 logra el platino con su disco debut Lavička Pimpin.
Su segundo álbum Gauč Storytelling 2019 obtuvo el primer lugar en los premios Ruka Hore Awards y también fue premiado en los Radio_head Awards 2019 por el álbum del año y por la grabación del año en la categoría hip hop/rap/r'n'b. En esta categoría de género, Gleb también triunfó en los premios Radio_Head Awards un año después con el nuevo EP Leto v kufri 2020.
En 2022 grabó su último álbum de estudio Big Boy FM que se convirtió pronto en disco de platino igual que los anteriores y ganó varios premios (Fundación Tatra Banka, Ruka hore Awards, Premios TV Óčko Awards).
Gleb participa regularmente en el mayor festival de música en Eslovaquia, Pohoda.
Actualmente dedica toda su energía al proyecto Rapinox donde recibe muchos invitados interesantes del mundo del rap.
Este año, el rapero eslovaco se convirtió en padre por primera vez. En sus redes sociales publicó una foto con su bebé en una silla de auto con el comentario: “Mi mejor FEAT llegó al mundo.”
