Curriculum vitae

He was born in August, 1944 in Pivnica (former Yugoslavia). He attended elementary schools in Boľovce, Pivnica, Bajsa and Báčsky Petrovec from 1951 to 1959. He attended secondary schools in Báčsky Petrovec and Zemun from 1959 to 1963. Between 1963 and 1969 he studied at the Medical Faculty at Belgrade University, but he gave up after completing five years.
     From 1970 he worked as a journalist in the weekly Hlas Ľudu (Voice of the People, published for the Slovak ethnic minority in the former Yugoslavia), later as an editor of the book department in the publishing house Obzor in Novi Sad (1972 to 1983 and 1990 to 1993), as the chief and managing editor of the monthly for literature and culture Nový Život (New Life, 1982 to 1989) and the deputy editor of this magazine (1995 to 1997). In 1993 he became the head of book publishing in the Obzor - Tvorba publishers and he remained in this post even after a merger with the Culture printing establishment, a public limited company in Báčsky Petrovec. Since 1998 he has again served as the editor-in-chief of Nový Život.
