In this book of three novellas from the film background, the author uses principles of film language: visualization, brevity of film cuts and retrospective. The novella Rain Water employs lyrical language to tell the intimate story of Alica and screenwriter Tim. In the novella The Devil the story of the pragmatic movie director Juraj is intervowen with the plot of the screenplay which is a book adaptation. The shortest novella, Irises, is the retrospective of the 60+ year-old Mark. After his two broken marriages, he is reviving his last relationship with Hana in form of letters.
