Marián Milčák

Provincial Poems

In twenty poems, the author reflects on language through the living and the dead to come to the conclusion that "the text maintains the universe"... He seeks to give a name to the existential situation of the subject, the inability to include him in the self-evident contexts of the world. He operates on the premise that "the world and language have ceased to understand each other", which causes the various illnesses of the world, the eternal conflict between destruction and libido. Milčák's subject is an observer who has the ambition to change the unsatisfactory world through observation. This effort manifests itself in attempts to innovate the poetic image.
