European Writers’ Festival 2024

Zuska Kepplová at the European Writers’ Festival.

This year's festival — a remarkable celebration of the best European poetry and prose translated into English — will bring together a plethora of glittering stars from across Europe. On May 18 and 19 2024 at the British Library in London, 30 authors from Austria to Ukraine will come together for two days of panels and performances, and discuss the literature and ideas that define our countries and Europe today.

Established and emerging writers alike will reflect this year's theme, Transformation, and Slovak novelist Zuska Kepplová will be among them, talking about how travel, migration and movement translate onto book pages on Sunday 19 May.

The Slovak author's participation is supported by the Slovak Literary Centre.
