Curriculum vitae

Han Donau (*1990) is an illustrator. She studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. The subject of her work is book, product, editorial and free digital illustration. She likes to experiment with symbols, metaphors and the abstract and looks for beauty in sad things. She believes in poetry. In 2023, Han Donau took patronage over the preparation and course of the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava event both as a professional and curator. She has participated in festivals and exhibitions in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Her most important collaborations include the Berlin newspaper Tagesspiegel, Magnus magazine, the project Čierne diery, Slniečko magazine, the Convergence festival, the Marián Varga Society and the publishing houses Artforum, Monokel, Slovart, Literárna bašta and Albatros. The picturebook The Lake is her first authorial book.
